Everyone except GCC nationals needs a visa for entry into Qatar. All tourists visiting Qatar should hold a valid passport and the passport must be valid for at least six months longer than the applicant's intended stay in Qatar.Visas can be issued upon arrival at the airport for the passport holders of the countries listed below:
- Europe (Austria, Andorra, Denmark, France, Finland, Holland, Greece, Germany, Sweden, Ireland, Iceland, Luxembourg, Liechtenstein, Portugal, Monaco, Norway, Switzerland, Spain, San Marino, United Kingdom and Vatican.) and Brunei, Hong Kong, Australia, Canada, New Zealand, Malaysia, Japan, South Korea, Singapore, and USA.
- Visa must be paid for by credit card, cash will not be accepted.
All the other passport holders from other countries are required to possess a visa before arrival.Visas can be obtained through the hotel where you are registered for a fee. Fees vary according to each individual establishment. It takes a minimum of 5 working days to process a visa.Visas can also be obtained through the Qatar Embassy in your country.
- Each application must have 2 color passport-size photographs (2" x 2").
- You will need to include a letter of invitation, that can be obtained by request from the conference organizers at cinnocenti@qatar.vcu.edu explaining the reason for the entry visa request (individual letter per applicant).
- The original Passport and 2 additional photocopies of the first couple of pages (with name and photo). Qatar Government's portal, or by contacting the Qatar Embassy or Consulate in your home country.
