When groups of people begin working together a lot of the results and the actual success of the project can depend on how well the group interacts with each other. The strength lies within the similarities but within the differences there can be strength as well. Interests and curiosities can have a bonding effect on a group dynamic.
 
Getting Started will contribute to the development of the course called ŒService Learning in the Global Community'. Within this workshop we will conduct a series of exercises and take part in a variety of discussions where the participants will find out about the other people in their group and perhaps discover a little something about themselves and what kind of person they are in a collaborative situation.
 
The results of this workshop will help in creating new ways for planning and introducing groups of students to whom they are working with. At the same time, it will help introduce the faculty to the strength and weakness of the group and further our understanding of how designers work together.
